Project Background
An international consultancy required content from three Drupal 7 websites to be migrated to a new Backdrop CMS website with the content being updated until switch over. The new site needed:
- data feeds to pull data from the old sites, maintain links between content, and remove duplicates;
- work to implement the designer's vision in a responsive way that worked well and looked good on desktop and mobile;
- optimisation of content views to present relevant content in different parts of the site and improve content management;
- configuration to optimise the content, making it easier to find for visitors and search engines.
Project Highlights
- The scope and strategy for migrating content was agreed with key stakeholders and processes designed, implemented and tested to allow initial migration and updates up until the point of going live.
- The theme was refactored into SASS to better support re-usability of styles, ease of management and updates and to make future changes easier to implement.
- Content management tools were developed to ease the cleansing, updates and optimisation of data.
- A customised deployment tool was supplied to support easier deployment of new features and updates, whilst making it easier to copy files and content from the live site to the development sites.
