Church Website - Backdrop CMS

The church required a responsive content managed church website with:

• a modern theme that incorporated the colours of the logo and provided contrast for accessibility;
• a wide range of event types, some events recurring, some ad-hoc;
• the ability to add custom details to each event of a recurring series;
• custom tools to assist with content management;
• user friendly content management and back end administration;
• the ability to add additional features later.

Backdrop CMS was selected due to the power, flexibility to adapt to changing needs and the focus on usability for site editors.  The site was built in discussion with a small steering group and designed both to give a modern look and feel, but also to be responsive and accessible.

Modules were ported, a custom theme developed, and custom modules were created to give additional functionality.
